  • May 2024 - Meghan Bargabos defended her Master's Thesis!
     

  • May and June 2024 - Caley Doell's whip-poor-will field work at the Flat Rock was completed!

  • Sept 2024 - Madelynne, Sophia, Zoe, and Sophie have all joined the lab! 
     

  • Sept 2023 - Paper on the post-fire regeneration dynamics has been published in Ecosphere!! Congrats to Devan, Harleigh, and Mikayla for all their work!
     

  • Sept 2023 - Maddie, James, and Meghan are all conducting fieldwork and working on the Altona Flat Rock Chronosequence of Forest Structure manuscript!
     

  • Sept 2023 Annie's insect collecting at Shingle Shanty is finished for the year - now we find out what she found!
     

  • Caley is analyzing her bird community data from the Flat Rock  - results soon!
     

  • September 2022 - Devan Bushey and Zach Hart are continuing their research at the Altona Flat Rock and are joined by Caley Doell!
     

  • September 2022 - Welcome Meghan Bargabos, a new student in the Masters in Natural Resources and Ecology program working with Dr. Lesser and Garneau. Meghan will be studying wildlife habitat use at the Altona Flat Rock for her Masters research!
     

  • August 2022 - Mikayla Osmer, Hannah Cave, and Liam Rascoe had their research posters presented at the Ecological Society of America conference in Montreal!
     

  • Devan Bushey, Zach Hart, Ed Rosenburg, Hannah Cave, Liam Rascoe, and Rob Kruse all presented their research at the Northeast Natural History Conference in Albany!
     

  • January 2022 - We have 6 students working in the lab this spring semester: Devan Bushey, Hannah Cave, Zach Hart, Rob Kruse, Mikayla Osmer, and Ed Rosenburg
     

  • January 2022 - Congrats to Heather Thompson on our new publication on insects at the Flat Rock!
     

  • April 2021 - Congrats to Hannah Cave and all the other students on our publication on wildlife response to fire at the Flat Rock!
     

  • September 2020 - We have 4 new students working in the lab on various projects! Sophia Griffiths, Hannah Cave, Anna Skolnick, and Mikayla Osmer
     

  • January 2020 - Welcome Molly Russell to the lab as a new graduate student! Molly will be working at the Altona Flat Rock on  aspects of post-fire recovery.
     

  • We will be presenting research, both talks and posters, at the SUNY Undergraduate Research Conference in Queensbury on April 26th.
     

  • 6 students from the lab (and 6 others from SUNY Plattsburgh CEES and Biology) presented research at the Northeast Natural History Meeting in Spring Field MA. Congrats to everyone on an excellent job!
     

  • 6 students in the lab have submitted abstracts for poster presentations at the 2019 Northeast Natural History Conference in Springfield MA this April!!
